埃米纳姆想用此歌来告诉人们他戒毒的故事。2005年8月，埃米纳姆自爆患有睡眠性药物依赖综合症。他不想就此毁了自己的一生，于是努力戒毒。埃米纳姆在接受《Vibe》杂志采访时表示，他在康复中心的床边写出了第一段主歌，由于受到毒瘾的影响，埃米纳姆不能专注地完成它。康复以后，埃米纳姆才将歌曲完善。而歌曲的录制是在他戒毒初期神志不清的时候完成的。埃米纳姆认为这是首歌曲标志着他不再会进入戒毒所，但它会给自己带来不好的回忆。
歌曲的开头与结尾部分截取至皇后乐队与保罗·罗杰斯的歌曲《Reaching Out》。
